Making playdough

small-1783-playdough

Since my little men are such avid play dough players I thought we might try our hands at play dough making too.

We used this recipe http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/play-dough-L926.html and it was both really simply and a complete hit.

The boys especially loved getting their hands all dirty whilst mixing in the food colourings, which I do last after the dough is “made” so they can all take their own little bit and make it their favourite colour. They love watching the colour slowly mix through, getting it all over their hands and pretending to be the Smurf family for the rest of the day.

It was very easy to make and our play dough has lasted for months and months in the fridge and is still a lovely soft pliable dough to play with, unlike a lot of the bought ones that seem to get flaky and dry out even if you store them carefully.

Have a go and let me know what you think!
